I see it was June when I last posted on the blog.....you can tell its been a busy summer. The weather has now turned changeable with the usual Equinoxal gales. The local White Tailed Eagle chick has fledged but still looks a bit ungainly in flight. We have seen Divers pausing from flight at Rua Reidh for a fish supper this month and had many sightings of a pair of otters feeding on the shore by the Lighthouse.
new Year is now fully booked but we still have Christmas available up to the 27th December. We open the book for room reservations in November but are taking bookings for the principal keepers accommodation as a self catering let now. The accommodation sleeps 15 and is let on a minimum booking of two nights.
Our croft has Rare Breed Pork now ready and our chicks are laying well.

Since you are living in or running a lighthouse you live a dream of many people – close to the beach and somehow melancholy. A lighthouse is a symbol of history, liberty and seafaring. Even if it might sound a bit confusing but I am sure that there are a lot of people who might want to feel what you feel every day. The sea, the sunsets… I guess you know what I am talking about. It is obviously quite difficult for people to stay in a lighthouse, to feel that way of life which for you might maybe be ‘usual’ – but not for them. So why don’t you receive someone who is willing to stay with you in your house? In return the person works with you (4/5 hours a day). He/She could clean your house for example, do gardening work, look after your children etc. Or if you don’t have any work to do right now you can receive someone for a little amount of money (less than 300 $ per month – this offer is not connected to usual tourism!) or if you want the traveler can stay completely for free.
ReplyDeleteYou can say for how long you want to receive someone or what you expect the traveler to do or not to do (smoking, drinking etc.). So why don’t you give other people the chance to take part in your life. Why don’t you realize a dream of someone?
